Testosterone & TRT in Portland
Low energy, low drive, harder workouts with worse results, brain fog, a libido that isn't what it was — these are real symptoms, and low testosterone is one real cause among several. This practice offers straightforward testosterone care: proper testing to find out whether your levels are actually low, an honest conversation about whether TRT is the right answer for you, and careful, monitored treatment if it is. No sales pitch, no one-size-fits-all protocol — just a doctor who takes your symptoms seriously and tells you the truth about what's driving them.
Overview
WHAT THIS COVERS
-
Testosterone evaluation and treatment, including:
-
Proper diagnosis — morning testosterone testing, repeated to confirm, plus the related labs that tell the full story
-
Testosterone replacement therapy when your levels are genuinely low, with options discussed rather than dictated
-
A real workup of what else causes these symptoms — sleep, thyroid, metabolic health, medications — because not every tired man has low testosterone
-
Ongoing monitoring on TRT: testosterone levels, blood counts, and prostate health at appropriate intervals
-
Transfer of care if you're already on TRT and want a local doctor who actually monitors it
-
Attention to the bigger picture — energy, weight, strength, and long-term health, not just a number on a lab
WHAT TO EXPECT
Care starts with a thorough first visit: your symptoms, health history, and any prior testing or treatment. If TRT is on the table, we confirm the diagnosis properly — testosterone testing done right, not a single afternoon draw — and go over benefits, risks, and what monitoring looks like. If you start treatment, early follow-ups dial in your dose, then monitoring settles into a routine schedule. Visits are available in person in Portland or by telehealth across Oregon and Washington.
COMMON QUESTIONS
My testosterone is "normal" but I have all the symptoms. Will you still work with me?
-
Yes — and this is exactly the situation where a lot of men get dismissed. "Normal" lab ranges are wide, and a level that's technically in range can still be low for you. I take your symptoms seriously alongside your labs: we do a proper workup, rule out the other common causes like sleep and thyroid, and if a trial of testosterone makes sense, we do it carefully, with real monitoring and honest follow-up about whether it's actually helping. The decision is a clinical judgment we make together — not a cutoff on a lab report.
Does TRT affect fertility?
-
Yes, and it's the most important thing to know before starting: testosterone therapy suppresses sperm production, often dramatically. If having children is in your plans, we talk about that before any prescription — there are approaches that protect fertility, and that conversation has to come first, not after.
Do you take insurance?
-
This is a direct-pay practice, so visits are paid out of pocket at transparent flat rates — see the pricing page. Many patients use HSA or FSA funds, and I can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Prescriptions and labs can still be billed to your insurance as usual.
Do you see patients in Washington?
-
Yes — I'm licensed in both Oregon and Washington and see Washington patients by telehealth. Testosterone and other prescriptions can be filled at your local Washington pharmacy, and lab work can be done near you.
